Another Baptism and A Wonderful Week In Ireland!

Rebecca with Jessica Leckey and her companion Sis. Chichoni

This is a part of Rebecca's letter sent 3-28-11. We are glad that Rebecca is happy and having success in the Lord's work.

"Well family, this has been the best week EVER!!! We started off this week a little bit bummed because our numbers weren't as good as we wanted them to be. Especially our QGC's (which are Quality Gospel Conversations that we have with people. We follow a pattern that President has given us.) So we decided that we were going to be more diligent everyday and work for as hard & as long as we could improve. And boy did we. Our average was about 25 QGC's a week when the standard is 50. But this week the Lord really blessed us and as we were obedient and more brave then we previously have been we were able to get 70!!!

It was an amazing experience to see that as we really tried hard to do an hour of finding everyday when we usually only get about 5 a day we were able to get 15-20 a day. Also I learned a great lesson about attitude. As we got more & more excited about finding we were able to get more and more potential investigators ( 10 in total when we only get about 3 a week usually) and I know that was because our attitude had changed and we have learned to love finding rather then dread it.

I know that because we were so diligent about having the right attitude about finding the Lord blessed us in all other aspects of the work and we were able to reach almost ALL of our goals this week! We had 25 lessons in total and were blessed with 4 investigators at church

We were also blessed with a WONDERFUL baptism on Saturday! Jessica Leckey looked amazing and the Spirit was there and it was just great. Like the other baptisms I have been blessed to witness and be a part of I feel that it was one of the happiest moments of my life to be able to watch Jessica enter into that covenant with the Lord. A Double Baptism (The Leckey twins)

Here is Rebecca and her companion (Sister Chichoni) at the baptism of Buzy and Ben Leckey 11 year old twins that they have been teaching. Rebecca shared a fun tithing lesson they gave. They gave the children some popcorn and then asked for 10 kernels back. When the kids gave back the ten kernels the sisters then poured out more popcorn then the children could hold in their hands. (Blessing from above.) The children were excited and the message was successful. Rebecca said you can do this lesson with candy like skittle etc. Also pictured is Rebecca making crepes. What a homemaker!!!!

Rebecca had an opportunity to go to Dublin for a training conference. This is what she said about her experience. "The training was AMAZING!! I learned so much and was able to receive much revelation! One thing that they had us do was before we started each morning to write down a question that we had. They promised it would be answered. They also told us as that question was answered to think of another one and write that one down as well. It was amazing. I was able to write at least five questions everyday and they were all answered!" Rebecca was able to stay a few days in Dublin and go on some splits and meet some of the saints. She really enjoyed her time there. Rebecca is happy and is working hard. They have several more investigators who are progressing toward baptism.

First Baptism

Here is Rebecca with Heather Richey, a woman she and her companion have been teaching. She was baptized on February 12. This is an excerpt from Rebecca's letter and her experience at this baptism.
"Our first baptism on Saturday was amazing. I think the only time I have been happier is being with my family in the temple that first time I went through. It was SUCH a good experience! And I cried like a baby the whole time! The Spirit was sooo soo strong! "
The sisters are teaching a set of 11 year old twins who are scheduled to be baptised on March 5th.
Rebecca has become a trainer and her new companion is Sister Chichoni, who is pictured here. Rebecca also says that their President has asked them to spend at least an hour each day tracking or street contacting so with about 10 minutes left to go in their hour, even though they were wet from the rain, cold and tired they finished the task. The last 5 houses they knocked they were able to talk to people and get 3 return appointments. "It was so awesome!", Rebecca says.
Rebecca concludes, "I am so grateful to the Lord for allowing me to serve these people and to be his mouth piece."
So that is the news from Ireland, where Sister Fisher is working hard and seeing miracles.

Winter in Ireland

This is one of Sister Fisher's new investigators. She says it is going well but this particular investigator was worried when they talked about baptism by fire. (Ha Ha)
We enjoyed our Christmas gift from Sister Fisher, which was a phone call home through skype. New brother Matthew called from Ghana and got to talk to her for a bit also. Emily was on the other line joining in on the conversation We talked for an hour and got to see the beautiful smile of our Rebecca. She is well and enjoying this new experience of being a missionary. We miss her but are happy she is serving the Lord.

Fun in the MTC

These are some pictures of Sister Fisher at the MTC in England. She is keeping warm and looks happy.

The First Few Weeks in the Field!

Well, Rebecca has been adjusting to mission life in Ireland. She and her companion are covering 2 wards so she was in church from 8am to 4pm. She introduced herself and bore her testimony in both wards. Since she is the new girl in town the wards have been feeding her well. She says the food is a lot like home, lasagna and roast beef. (She's glad it isn't dog, like her brother has had in Ghana.) The weather is cold, like it was in Rexburg, but Rebecca and her companion are in a car, except when they go tracking.
Rebecca and her companion have been working very hard. They have 14 new investigators and the possibility of 3 baptisms on December 18th. Let's keep praying for the Lord to touch the hearts of the people who are being taught so that the spirt will teach them the truth.
